  1. Lovely post! I’m sure that the colors related to my business are all the browns and the natural shades! But, onestly, i’m in love with copper and pastels too :)

  2. I’ve been a subscriber to Your wonderful blog since beginning of January 2015, and I must say your trend posts are a real treat for a designer! Thanks!

  3. Dear Gudy and Fiona,

I would like to thank you for the great post. It is really interesting how much color influences us on daily basis and your tips were very inspiring.
My favorite remains the “calm, calm, calm trend” although it is very trendy, to me is somehow an evergreen, maybe because white and all the shadows of grey and blue are my top colors from a lifetime.

Thank you for sharing this post with us.

    1. Thanks Alba, always love your caring comments and I totally agree with your take on color. We sometimes don’t even realize how much we are influenced when making choices. The book helps to understand a lot of our (unconscious) patterns and give you great guidance.G, x

  4. Hi! I’ve always considered myself a colourful person (meaning that I love bold happy colours, not that I’m multicolored! :) But I have to admit that i’m gravitating more and more towards earthy tones. Specially when combined with big amounts of texture. Loved this post, thank you for sharing

    1. Maria! Thanks for coming over and I am with you here, textures are such a good combo when wanting to express certain messages and emotions! G, x

  6. Wonderful post. I love the addition of sage and marsala to the ‘Back to Nature’ trend. The subdued colors are such a perfect harmony for wood, natural paper, and twine.

  8. What a great article Fiona. I have never looked at the physcology of color as a way to give a clear picture of my brand. Thank you so much for these insights into bringing yourself into your brand. MaryJane Mitchell

  9. Great this post and inspiring pictures! I use colour in my work all the time and know what effect colours can have on people and how they experience their environment.
That same would work on my brand never crossed my mind… Wining the book would really be great and eye opening :)

  10. The pastel colours have just given me inspiration for a web design I am working on for a fashion store today. Some lovely photos on the blog today!

  11. Loved the post although it got me a little worried for my brand colors has nothing of the subtle qualities of those trends…Looking forward the next post! Good job.

    1. Hi Simone, take a peek at Fiona’s resources on her blog. You might get some more valuable information on colour psychology that hopefully helps out. And you could always join one of her workshops, I really recommend it since I got so much out of it being myself a student!

  12. A really inspiring read – I’m in love with the pastel colour palette. Thank you for sharing this with your newsletter subscribers. Keep up the good work. :)

  13. Hi Fiona and Gudy! Thank you for the post, it’s really interesting and helpful. Color has a lot of power and not only in graphic level but in life itself. As a food photographer I have learned that the color is the first thing that the eye recognizes on an image, so when we’re working on any creative project we should use it consciusly.
I really liked the options that you picked, I think they’re fresh and I agree when you say that we should not just follow the trends without considering if it really work for our brand. Each one has its own language and transmits different sensations.
My favorite one is the coopper orange. I recently discovered that I like that color, and I found interesting the idea to use it as a representation of the desire of “a subtle bling” in our lives…maybe the desire to be successful, right?. Well, then I agree! And I never thought about metallic colours that way.
Your work, as well as Gudy’s, is so inspiring. Thank you for share it! :)
Hope you can do a workshop in Barcelona soon!

    Have a really lovely evening.
PS: Gudy, I figured it out as you can see, thank you so much.
