This was a former military garage located on the east coast of Gotland, Sweden. A Swedish family living in Stockholm were looking for a holiday home to spend their summers, and most probably had the right intuition guessing all the hidden potential that space would offer. They renovated the abandoned building using raw materials and a lovely color palette that suits exactly what I have been working on lately, all moody colors with a certain predilection for that kind of greyish-petrol blue.

The wooden panels, concrete floor and simple furniture make it such a cool place! It is huge, has a certain industrial twist in its structure and kind of laid back atmosphere with the direct contact to nature.

How about some extra inspiration?

  2. I agree with Tina (or they just did it for you ;-) love the blue and its association with the raw wood (I’m not a great fan of it but it works perfectly here). I’d like to see this house in the summer since it is so much into the winter mood. have a great day xxi

    1. I guess it works during summer too when all the sun light comes in. I have been seeing moody images since this Spring all over, it is not that much related to Autumn and Winter anymore but I guess for most people it works best during the current season with colder temperatures outside.x

  3. PARFAIT… on est en train de travailler sur une réhab ici pour faire une gite chic et décalé… cela m’inspire BEAUCOUP ;)
