Faye Toogood’s eclectic home in London

Faye Toogood‘s home has been a real surprise to me. I thought it would be quirky and expressive however it looks much more classic in a way than I thought. Not in the sense of a conventional classic style, the more you observe the images and the objects she collects, the more interesting it gets.

Faye is a British designer and amazing stylist, based in London. I love the fact her pieces are handmade by small-scale fabricators and traditional artisans, with an honesty to the rawness and irregularity of the chosen material. But you might know her for that ceramic bathroom that was all over the net some time ago and executed through Studio Toogood who specializes on interior and retail design.

What do you like best here? The moody blue color in the bedroom? The ceramic tiles in the bath? Or the ceramics all over the place?

How about some extra inspiration?

  1. Love the colours, very cool. The green leaves really give a great colour pop, size works so well too. It all has a very pared back feel despite the curated objets.

  2. What an amazing intensity of blue hues. There are three elements that I particularly like in this home. Starting from the beginning, I love the pop of blue color on the side of the sofa. I think it changes it from classic style to kind of funky. The next thing is the free standing mirror. The reflection of the white curtains adds a lot of air to the moody room making it look a little bit dreamy. And the last thing is the bathroom. And those tiles of course! Simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing Gudy and happy new week :)

  3. I love her entire house and fast in general Gudy! Just gorgeous. The tiled bathroom is very special-as are the bedroom cupboards in the dark teal and the very calming living room grey-just beautiful! xx

  4. I love her bathroom, the mosaics on the walls… I also like the blue theme throughout her home in many shades, very calming. My favourite is that photo above the mirror in the bedroom, always the little details that make a place interesting and with a human touch. Gorgeous find Gudy xx

    1. I think the entire home is really nice but what stands out are those tiles, they are just innovative yet a very pleasing and known design. We just haven’t seen this pattern on tiles so far. At least, I had not…xx

  5. I love Faye’s work and have seen her home in newspaper supplements. There she talked about how her home is not what people might think.

It’s elegant, sophisticated and I like the blue tones.
