Scandinavian Design and Home of Stylist Joanna Lavén

Swedish stylist Joanna Lavén has a most exquisite taste. I don’t even know where to start with she had me in awe starting at her hallway! The structure itself of the apartment is dreamy starting with the black and white marble flooring in the hall and the carefully set old parquet patterns. High ceilings, large windows, spacious rooms. Honestly, the more I get to know about Scandinavian homes, the more I believe they have the nicest in-house architecture in the entire world. And I mean it. That must be culture.

I wish we had a similar understanding of how to care of floorings, ceilings, installations, etc. here in Barcelona. You still find so many kitchen and bathrooms from the 70’s and 80’s, I have been apartment hunting for the past twelve month and could write a little guide about it.

But back to the apartment, those mini bar carts are so trending right now. The vintage piece here is a statement by itself. I was wondering if its place next to the chaise longue is the official one (very convenient) or has been removed for the shoot.

Anyhow, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a good week start!

How about some extra inspiration?

  1. When I see apartments like this I always think… “Someday, when I grow up!” Really exquisite. I would love to read a Barcelona apartment hunting guide from you!

  2. haha I know what you’re talking about. Our floor tiles are in gray-white mortadella-optic and the tiles in kitchen and bathroom undescribable! Why don’t they just keep it simple? I love the typical old building eixample gotico tiles though but the problem there is that the appartments never have a heating and I couldn’t survive the winter. Been there, done that!

  3. I adore this home Gudy! I agree that Scandinavian homes have amazing finished and textures in their homes, and they take great care of what they have!

    1. I’ve been publishing several already, you’ll find them on the ‘barcelona style’ column. Saludos!!
