How do bloggers translate trends – Black Wall Art

How do bloggers translate trends-Black Wall Art by monsterescircus

I am very happy to share a new project by Mette, my favorite creative rock star! During the past month I had invited fellow bloggers to participate in a project where they were asked to translate interior design trends. If you are a regular reader, you might have seen three surface design trends I developed for BOEN last year. Igor from Happy Interior Blog, Niki from My Scandinavian Home and Mette from Monsterscircus joined in, and they all came up with different ways of interpreting the theme they liked best.

Mette has been chosen the Black is the new drama trend for her project. Here goes a little reminder of the essential message.

  • it’s all about the Total Look in black, preferably from floor to ceiling (acknowledging a few points of light)

  • it is synonymous with a sleek and sophisticated style

  • black is very versatile being used both, in contemporary and classic environments

  • when thickened with pigments to give a matt finish, black gets warmer . It’s always the glossy effect that evokes a colder appearance.

This is her spin on stunning two types of wall art and mood boards made out of BOEN’s black flooring tiles:

She shares a tutorial on how to create the wall art pieces, it is really easy. Why don’t you hop over to see more images of this story, ideas and tips on her site?

How about some extra inspiration?

  1. Thank you SO very much for sharing Gudy!!! Each and every one of the trends you’ve developed with BOEN are so appealing and I absolutely love that the dark hues is the new light neutral colours in this trend. The dark scandi is set to remain very much de rigeur with these two new black floors from BOEN!
