If you ever wondered if you can gather a large group of creative people doing a common exercise with individual input and getting a beautiful outcome, the answer is YES! Today I’d like to share what we did at the design event Interior og Boligmessen in Bergen (Norway) and how to create an inspiration wall with 60 creative professionals.
The fair invited a bunch of bloggers, designers, makers, journalists and stylists to a private mood board breakfast. We would finish the morning session with the set up of an Inspiration Wall under the leitmotiv What Moves You? We had previously explained the exercise and asked everybody to bring images, fabrics, color swatches, whatever they felt were inspirational and personal at this very moment. See the images and little (smartphone filmed) video below:

Here goes a little video impression:
It’s been the fourth time that I’ve worked on a large Inspiration Wall with a group of people and when talking beauty, this is my favorite so far. The fact we are in Autumn helps a lot too with many nature inspired topics on the wall. So if everybody gives his very own input on What Moves You?, can you see a common red thread on the outcome? All participants agreed on the following main topics or sensations that were displayed: beautiful strong women (in any sense), nature during this time of the year, earth, minimal not maximal.
What I particularly love about this group exercise is the fact that many single contributions lead to one interesting outcome where everything is connected again. A ME becomes a WE.
