How to live with Design Art: Karena Schuessler, Berlin

Freunde von Freunden features fascinating people all over the world. I can’t help reading their articles whenever there is a home published from Berlin. And if the owner comes from Hannover where I was born, I even have to share a post!

Karena Schuessler has had a fascinating live so far. She studied Couture in Paris, was running a shop with own shoe designs in the same city, designed for several brands bags and shoes, moved then to Milan working as a shoe-designer, and quit her fashion career at the age of 40.

Since she had always collected privately designer pieces, she was drawn by the idea of opening a gallery and wanted to move to Berlin after having lived 18 years abroad. Karena considers Berlin as the art-capital whereas Paris would be named as the fashion-capital.

Karena supports artists encouraging certain design and collections and always visits them before deciding to work with them whether they live in Europe or on the Asian market.
