My lifestyle trends AW 2016/17 for Global Color Research: WONDERLAND

I had to hold back my trend presentations I did for Global Color Research until the Barcelona Blogger Brunch we celebrated yesterday since I wanted to make it a bit more exclusive for all participants.

I had an amazing weekend here with fellow blogger friends and a wonderful Meet The Blogger event, I’ll publish soon the post and tell you more about it. But for today, let me introduce you to the first trend for AW 2016/17:

WONDERLAND

ECLECTIC-TRENDS--colour-trends-Wonderland

There is a longing towards the Nordic Shores with a strong feel of escapism. Colder climates and rougher landscapes are the new destinations where the human being has a much more difficult and often guided access to. This limitation makes it so more appreciated. Snow and ice stand for the ethereal whereas icebergs, floating freely in open water are the new symbol to watch.

Wonderland is an evolution of wanting to embrace nature in all its senses which started (and is still trending) with a variety of floral and botanical printing. If we can not go and access easily the waste nature then we try at last to take its image home.

There is a poetic feeling with a touch of surrealism (painted already by René Magritte in the 20th century) and serving as inspiration here. Clouds are included in art installations, photography and fashion shows in an unexpected way.

When it comes to colors we talk icy blues, cold white, lava, dark greens which underline the sensation of the uncontrollable and ethereal of the waste nature.

You might find this trend applied in architecture, furniture design, photography, fashion and graphic design.

Out of the four I presented, this was one of the most liked ones. What do you think?

  1. This was by far my favourite one! I’m working on them right now. It’s a good exercise to realize you need to put a name of something to realize it exists, you’ve seen many of these details several times but then suddenly it all speaks to you as an evidence!
My mind keeps going back and forth to all we said these last 3 days and I love to come back home so full of ideas and inspiration. I hope we will have soon another opportunity to spend such a great time together again. xx i.

  2. Just looking forward to see all this input applied and excited about your new projects, Ilaria! I know it will be great! xx

  3. It’s really pretty and I believe on this trend, I really like these type of blues nowadays, and I’m so happy that it might become a trend years from now. My heart stays on neutrals but a splash of these ideas as accents won’t hurt. So exciting, very nice!
