Raf Simons, Artistic Director of Christian Dior, gained inspiration from the colors, textures and light of the landscape of the Cote d’Azure when designing the Cruise 2016 collection. The unreal residence Le Pallais Bulles of Pierre Cardin, otherwise known as the ‘Bubble Palace’ was designed by Hungarian architect Antti Lovag who was inspired by the igloos he enjoyed building as child.
This organically terra-cotta shaped building set into a cliffside halfway between Cannes and Monaco talks about going back to the roots of our ancestral habitat (caves, cave dwellings) taking into consideration the complexity of spherical and spheroidal rooms. Together with Pascal Häusermann and Jean-Louis Chanéac the architect founded the Habitat Évolutif movement, focused on creating biosphere, organic living environments. When you start googling these three, the most amazing buildings and individual living complexes pop up, I definitely want to research a bit more! G, x

That’ second last image is impeccable in every way. I’ve seen this building somewhere over the years and like you, would love to explore it more. Architecture at its best!
