Salone del Mobile 2013: when art and design merge | Desinere

Tortona Design Week is an international network of outside-the-box events and initiative in Milan, in the via Savona/Tortona area called as well the off-salone. There are other districts too where you can observe young designers exhibiting many times still their prototypes waiting for the big deal to come during the Salone.

Other brands are already more established and Desinere, yet very young is one of the labels I liked most. Melvin Ong and Supertini Tjiang are the founders/designers and based in Singapore.

I have been observing several trends (stay tuned for the trend report coming out soon) these days and one would be when art and design merge. That is not a new discussion, I know. But it seems there is a strong focus now on the piece itself and its aesthetics.

Ya sé que estoy tardando un poco con las traducciones pero llegarán…:-) prometido.

How about some extra inspiration?
