I discovered Floor van Doremalen‘s work earlier in April at the Off-Salone in Milan. Since then we have been doing a bit of research learning about many interesting concepts around the Skin Textiles theme. Actually, in case you haven’t seen it yet, there is an entire Trend Post for 2017 covering this topic.

Wellbeing is one one most used words on a any trend conference or webinar nowadays with constant up-dates.

Caring for one self and spending time with attention intensifies the experience of wellbeing. The skin sensitive materials will give super-sensory impulses to the skin and body.

She felt the interior of wellness center are often quite cold and impersonal and came up with a proposal of bridging the gap between hard tiles and warm and tangible human skin. A titillating floor that massages the feet, an invigorating wall for a pleasant back scrub, or a tickly curtain to caress the skin. These rubber items with nylon hairs are meant for the wellness industry. Imprint of skin is inspired by imaginary animal skins and under water beings, these sensitive materials give super-sensory impulses to the body, hence another great example for our ongoing Tactility Trend.

It was an interesting experience touching these surfaces (last pic), one quite can’t imagine these to have at your usual fitness center but I’d definitely love to try as long as I know all hygienic aspects are solved:) G, x

How about some extra inspiration?
