Stockholm Design Week: Michael Anastassiades

I am still organizing all the information and pictures from the last weekend, huge overload but meanwhile I wanted to give you a sneak peak of one of my highlights. Michael Anastassiades has teamed up with Svenskt Tenn and is exhibiting at their store during the Design Week and Furniture Fair. There was no single piece I did not like but I would really like to have one day the bird cage cabinet and the crystal flasks.

Michael Anastassiades has rapidly become a major figure on the international design and did a very limited number of pieces in the beginnings. He traveled then around the world and located small family run workshops to fabricate his pieces (love this story!). The workshops were selected for their unique manufacturing skills and tradition in the use of materials.

At the exhibition “To be perfectly Frank”  being a homage to Josef Frank, he has created a series of products for Svenskt Tenn in which he plays with the concept of sincerity, through a reinterpretation of selected objects by one of the most important Swedish designers of all time.

How about some extra inspiration?
