Pharmacy design has never looked so stylish and fresh. Playful and minimal, the aqua color scheme has a soothing effect on its visitors, and at the same time, one can’t help thinking of a candy shop.
Designed by Sergio Mannino Studio, a multidisciplinary design firm based in New York, the Medly Pharmacy located in Brooklyn consists of two rooms; a cozy waiting room where customers collect prescriptions, and a second space, where the administration and prescription work is done.
We have been writing many times about total looks or monochromatic styles, both for editorial shots or retail design, but are really surprised by this pharmacy concept. The simple act of visiting a pharmacy is often an impersonal close to clinical experience having uncountable offers at every two corners in larger cities, and who has ever seen a pharmacy that would stand out thanks to a fresh, contemporary and even daring design? It comes as no surprise that the owners not only took a chance on an unusual retail design but also run a complementary app that customers can use to have prescriptions delivered directly to their door.

Wow, I didn’t realize that pharmacy store can look so classy, minimalist, and stylish for the customers to visit! I like the fact that customers can wait in a separate area where they can pick their medicines while another area is allotted for inquiries or administrative errands are performed. To me, this approach is new and I bet customers would love to try to experience this themselves to test the convenience and ambiance. If I were to own a pharmacy, I would like to conceptualize a unique design that will be favorable to my target market with the help of an expert who can these plans come to life.
