The Three-Step Program For Moodboarding with Strategy

THE THREE-STEP PROGRAM

Three is a magical number. Throughout the years working in larger corporations or having set up my own company in recent years, I’ve used a three-step program very often, it kind of works for me.

Here go the three phases:

1. Analysis

It’s the moment to identify needs, pain points, objectives, possible objections, opportunities, solutions, and benefits of your project.

You can work with a SWOT analysis and/or a mind map.

I like the second option because, by doodling and drawing, you get to new conclusions, use both sides of your brain, and create a more memorable experience. But that’s just my jam:) However, we use a simple mind map in our masterclass and online course.

95% of all students who attend the offline masterclass feel that what they’ve learned the most during the program was that starting with proper analysis, would bring their mood board to another level.”

2. Hands-On Process

It’s all about taking action and translating point 1.

I’m a big fan of trying, shooting, and then adjusting. The idea is not to come up with a perfect result but to filter and modify step by step.

To help you create a balanced and well-structured board, I’ve identified over the years at least 10 Composition Techniques I share in the classes and online courses.

3. PRESENTATION

Mood boards are all about visualization of pre-projects. Often they are used as a proposal before you close a deal. But even if they represent an ongoing process, you need to present your board.

Some creatives struggle with that part of communication feeling much more comfortable in the making than not in the presenting part.

Again, the magic number of three and a formula that works for me can help you stay focused when presenting your proposal/mood board to a client.

Three Step Program For Moodboarding With Strategy

Thanks to this methodology of these three blocks, I’ve always considered that a mood board is a business opening up new opportunities. If you’d like to mood board with intention and strategy, this program might be helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comment section, I’m happy to answer!

Please note that as soon as we launch the new program on Monday, 15 (3 pm GMT+1), we will take the starter course down. Those students who are already enrolled will have the content still on the school platform, the course won’t be removed.

PD: The new program is pre-launched with a special rate for the next 48h.

If haptic mood boards are your thing, please check the complete course based on five years of teaching
