This David Karp’s, founder and chief executive officer of Tumblr, newly renovated loft in Brooklyn. He is not into anything particularly shiny or smooth but has a clear preference for all kind of aged and rough materials: ancient bricks, weathered concrete, blackened steel and reclaimed oak.
Brick walls and huge windows give quite an industrial look with is immediately softened with the wooden flooring. The living area stands out with a higher platform view and feels like an island itself.
The Silver Beatles was one of earlier band names before becoming “The Beatles”. What a find!
This is probably what I liked most about the space: an open staircase, the black handrails, all light filled , concrete walls and the open bedroom. Even separated, it feels all connected.
Open shelving in this apparently gorgeous kitchen! And that is a beautiful faucet!
Behind this metal fire door you’ll find the washer, dryer and laundry chute. That’s a pretty clever design solution!
How about the green used carpet? The entire room and feeling would be a complete different one without that statement. I think it gives some warmth and fits nicely in the color palette of the loft.
Not a lot to say here, right?
I have a friend who says there is nothing better than a loft space. Have you ever lived in a loft?

Gudy, this is a man after my own heart. I love everything about this home right down to the green aged rug that I was seriously considering purchasing last year when I found a similar one but alas didn’t have the funds to buy at the time! Thank you for some morning inspiration :) xD
Gudy, what a find! I am amazed by all the good stuff & hear myself ‘Oh, I want these walls’, ‘Oh, I want these metro tiles’, ‘Oh, I want that rug’, ‘Oh, I want that door!’
