A favorite App for so many, Instagram has certainly changed the access and the pace of how we look at interiors, exhibitions, travel destinations or fashion. We would even go this far, to say that photography that is shared on Instagram is having a certain impact on trends and taste today – or can you recall a huge trend of images of avocado toasts in the 1990s? This is a new series: Tracking back trends on IG.
Leading photographers, known for their highly powerful language, designers and influencers with compelling aesthetics have a clear influence on visual perception. The more the customer sees a certain image, the more he is likely to fall for its aesthetics. This, of course, is common sense, but we love to research on every platform possible and it would be a shame to not take Instagram into account!
You probably know by now, that Instagram has a new feature, that allows you to save images – there is no need to make a screenshot anymore and to spam your phone memory. Over the past few months we have stumbled over so many blue images on Instagram that we decided to open a new category – ‚Virtual Trend Evidence’ to show you the exact trends we have been forecasting a while ago. You can see a few articles underneath this post.
Cobalt Blue, Yves Klein Blue, Ultramarine, Royal Blue – these are different names and shades but do all stand for an intense Blue these days. Please see all author’s work at the IG link underneath the images:

Working on trend predictions, it is certainly intriguing to track back our color forecasts in so many lifestyle areas and see them grow successfully and becoming a victory.
Today we would love to dip into many disciplines as possible, to prove on how successful all of the different hues of blue have spread in virtual imagery.
Clearly, blue colors are huge in travel photography, but we also picked up gorgeous snippets from artist showing their mood boards, interior vignettes or products only concentrating on one blue hue.
On a side note: there were surveys, that proved that blue hued photography seems to be the most successful on Instagram – having said this, there is no stopping us from further insights into the gorgeous community and browse these gorgeous images and accounts.
