Maison & Objet Paris has chosen to spotlight during the September edition Tristan Auer as Designer of the Year 2017. His name is associated with elegance developing his own eclectic signature moving in between classical and contemporary references which his combines with well-balanced results. He features a stunning portfolio ranging from Chanel, Nina Ricci, Hotel du Louvre, Hotel de Crillon Palace to Cartier and Heidsieck.
The project we are sharing below is his own home. At the foot of Montmartre, Tristan Auer has imagined for himself and his family an audacious 150m2 duplex where vintage references, personal creations and French neoclassical sculptures coexist.
Did you see this report eporta and WGSN have put together a few days ago on what are the most sellable trends? One of the key insights was how popular Masculine Design has become on their platform. The latest Auer retail concept for silversmith maison Puiforcat would definitely fit into the category.
Divided into several spaces, the place recreates different places of life: the vestibule – witness of the Heritage of the House -, the small living room, the dining room or the workshop room that honors the artisans of Puiforcat. Raw cedar and satin-finished metal, smooth leather and matt gum, raw canvases and glossy lacquer, this new space plays on contrasts and mixes different materials with finesse.
