I had totally forgotten about Lilla Tabasso and her amazing Venetian Murano glass art when visiting the Off-Salone earlier this year. Browsing through my picture base the other day, I stumbled upon a few images I took back then.
Her passion for nature, which was first awakened through her studies as a biologist, has been transferred to the refined technique of Murano glass, and in particular to the reproduction of cut flowers which feature in many of her works. You can watch her work with a small gas burner (I hope that’s the right description) in her studio which is pretty interesting over here. I don’t know you, but I always have in mind these huge glass stoves and seeing a home-office version is pretty stunning. G, x
