What do bloggers collect? The June edition

Happy Monday! I am thrilled to publish another What do bloggers collect post, it is already the third edition and this time I have fellow bloggers from Finland, Germany and Ireland to share their hobbies with you.

For all who read this column for the first time, it all started in April when I posted a pic of my some of my porcelain mugs on Instagram and asked what my followers or other IG users were collecting. Since there were quite some responses, I started this series which will lead into a regular blog column, I believe. I do love the result of getting a sneak peek into my virtual (and real) friend passions and hobbies. Some images are a total surprise others not. All of them are beautiful!

Hello my name is Kreetta Järvenpää and I’m a Finnish photographer who lives in Helsinki . I love vintage and handmade things. My blog is called gretchen gretchen and it’s about inspiration and creativity.

My hobby is to collect props to be used in photography. That is the best excuse to buy old vintage things. These plates are collected from flea markets and antique shops in Finland and in Sweden.

What do bloggers collect Glomerylane blog | Eclectic Trends

Hi. I am Inga, a German interior architect who has finally found a small garden with an apartment. My blog glomerylane is all about flowers, gardening and growing your own.

Well, I have a big thing for crazy vintage planters and my eyes just about fell out as I gazed upon these guys at a local thrift store. Back at home, I planted her that succulent (my second big love) haircut. Isn’t it just perfect?

What do blogbers collect Littlestarblog | Eclectic Trends

My name is Bridgee and I am running LittleStarBlog where I write about fashion, photography, lifestyle, design and more but with regard to parents and children. I am not only a mom of two but also a photographer specialising in children and families, as well as an interior designer, focusing on children’s spaces. I truly believe that a happy life with children can continue to be (fairly) organised, fashionable, stylish and full of great designs…
My collection of pretty children’s shoes shows off my and my daughter’s shared passion for shoes and even though I am not “officially” collecting them, I do keep the least worn pairs she out-grows for her. For now, I use them to decorate her room but I also imagine that one day she might have a little girl of her own and what a pleasure it would be to pass on some of these gorgeous shoes from her toddler years… Call me sentimental but whenever I look at a pair of her old baby shoes, I am reminded of how quickly time passes and how precious every moment really is!

What do bloggers collect A little bird blog | Eclectic Trends

Hello! My name is Rincy and I write a blog from Dublin, Ireland called ‘A little bird‘ where I share in the simple pleasures of my every day. While I don’t collect anything officially (I have very unfortunate stories of collecting rocks as a child (embarrassing, I know!)) , I am so inspired by Gudy and this post to collect in things that I ultimately one day hope to share with my children.
Of these, the written word and a love of nature are two things so dear to my heart. As we move apartments and homes throughout years, it is our bookcases filled with books that we seem never able to part with. Our unofficial collection of sorts. I wish in many ways, these books are cherished with that same kind of unconditional love I hope to give my children. Incredibly soft and undeniably cheesy I admit, but doesn’t true love always make us that way?

Thank you Kreetta, Inga, Bridgee and Rincy for taking part and letting us know where (part of ) your heart beats, I really appreciate!

Please have a look too here at the May edition where my guests came from Australia, Germany and Denmark!

How about some extra inspiration?

  1. As a very curious person this is what I need! I love Kreettas plates – maybe we could do a little exchange of props ;-)
You definitely should continue this series – a wonderful way to find out a bit more about the person behind a blog.
    Thanks my dear,
    Sandy

  6. Ah, collections! I think I missed the second edition, will have a look later! I love these kinds of posts, a little sneak peek into other bloggers’ lifes… Since I did a post about collections and my collection board on pinterest I realized I am taking pictures of collections all the time. There’s something really fascinating about it. Funny that bloggers seem to be big collectors. Maybe that’s why we want to collect our images and thoughts in a place, too!

    1. I think we are all collectors somehow. Bloggers are just very good stylists and photographers too :-)

  7. UH, what a beautiful topic! I found it through the great Glomerylane Blog, that I love to read…. I inherited my passions for collecting beautiful things through my mother who never came back from antique markets empty handed… I am living my dream & have a vintage shop where I just sell things I adore & would collect myself. It all started off, because I was a BIG collector of vintage purses, but someday it was just too much for a lifetime, so I started my online shop… I love collecting lots of things like vintage belts & gloves, matt white vases & actually all things, that look pretty… right now I am all over copper {ok, ok, and still a few purses}. If I see a thing, that I love, I buy it, without thinking of where to put it. It turns out to be a good thing, because meanwhile I have a huge collection & started making photos using my props. They are unique & nobody else has the piece your rocking! So if you like, I would LOVE to share some of my passions next months! Believe me, you won’t regret it :-)
    Lots of love, Anastasia
PS: your art deco header is amazing!
