Wood in progress by Ernst Gamperl

What kind of art object would you like to have if money was no issue?

These wooden objects are really tempting and Ernst Gamperl is a sculptor to watch. His minimalistic archaic forms in maple and oak mainly are shaped from wet wood . He uses trunks that could not stand their ground against the wind or had to be felled for other reasons.

All images in this post are from different expositions but you can clearly see he cares about the where to showcase his work. If I hadn’t ‘a thing’ for ceramics I would work with paper or wood. Probably with wood since it’s more about being in touch with soil and nature.

I love the shelve system here and how it is connected in an irregular way matching perfectly with the pieces themselves. I’d take it as it is!

Esa casa exixte? Jajaja!

    besos y belleza!
